Fly Fly Butterfly

Butterfly's are one of children's favourite things to draw.  They symbolize change which is neat because  when, in your life, do you experience more change than as a child! Every day is something new!

Sheila's son, who is four years old and from Penetanguishene, Ontario, loves to draw butterflies. He decorates them in many different ways and uses so many different colours! This year for Christmas he is getting a softie hand made from one of his drawings! Happy Holidays!

Little Summer Girl With A Bracelet

Hayden (The artist who drew the Torontada Dinosaur in 2012) has a 2.5 year old sister and she created this line drawing last summer. Isn't it spectacular? I think we have a budding artist! This is a self portrait on her first day of camp! Her mom sent me the clothing that she wore on this special day and I used it to make the clothing for her softie! Complete with some extra bows and ruffles! Merry Christmas!

Thursday

"Dad" by Zahra and Von

Dear Zahra and Von, from British Columbia created this drawing of their father for father's day. Zahra drew the body and her brother Von drew the head! Their mom wanted to make a special keepsake for their father from their very special drawing and I think it turned out perfectly! Their father just loves his children's artwork. He's even thinking of getting a tattoo of some of their work!

A Family That Sticks Together!

A little girl from British Columbia drew this portrait of her family! Although all of her family have black hair, she got creative and used all different kinds of colours to show their different personalities. Her Dad wanted to have this portrait recreated so he can hang it on his wall in 3D!

So I stretched fabric over a wooden artist's frame and attached velcro and then created each softie so that it will attach to the frame, and the 3 sisters can move the dolls around into different positions because there's lots of extra velcro!

Monday

Molly's Creation!

Molly, from Norway, created this drawing of a blue man. I love the detail she added in this character's face and in the snowflake. Molly is on vacation in the USA this summer and this softie will be shipping out to her in MA tomorrow!

Gosha's Little Monster!

Here's something a little different! Gosha's little boy, Jacob, turned 2 this past spring and she wanted a softie created to remind her that Jacob will always be her "little monster!" This little monster softie is the perfect size for cuddling!

Monster Teeth!  Yuck!

2 Cats and a Quilt!

Finn, from Toronto, has a birthday coming up this August and his mom wanted to give him something very special. Finn took a lot of time to draw his 2 pet cats (who he loves VERY VERY much) and the quilt that Ollie (the bigger and lazier one) and Lollo (the smaller daintier kitty) and he wanted them made with the softest most cuddly fabrics - just like his cats! Happy Birthday Finn!

Sophia's Beautiful Ink Lady

One of the most elegant and beautiful drawings I have yet to come across! Sophia, who is now 5.5 years old and from Montreal, QC drew this beautiful picture of a woman. Sophia only ever draws using blue ink on white paper. It's her signature! This drawing brought tears to my eyes the first time I saw it. Sophia is so talented!

Monday

Tinsel Butt from the '80's!

Caitlin's Sister-in-Law, Victoria, found this drawing that Caitlin created when she was a child in the 80s! The drawing is of "Tinsel Butt." Tinsel Butt is a cat who ate some Christmas Tinsel and... well... eventually it came out the other end!
Victoria will be sending Tinsel Butt overseas to keep her sister-in-law company while she travels through Europe this year.

Teyla's Dad WITH Hair

Teyla, from MB, drew this picture of her Dad. One of the reasons that Teyla's mom knows her daughter has such a great sense of humour is because, in real life, her Dad doesn't have even a single strand of hair! You'd never know from the picture! What an awesome drawing Teyla!
