Tuesday

Mixed Media Bear

Ella, who is 6, created this design of a cuddly little creature with hopes of it being made into a real softie! Her grandmother is making it happen! I can't wait for her to receive it in the post in a few days!

Thursday

Aila's Royal!

Aila, from Calgary AB, is 5 and she drew this beautiful royal doll complete with heels and jewels (the most important parts!). Ready just in time to make it almost across the country for Christmas!

Wednesday

Super-hero Minion!

This one is going to be difficult to ship to Toronto tomorrow because my boys don't want to see it leave the house! "B," who is 4 years old, is REALLY into superheroes and minions (just like my oldest!) and so he combined the two to make a Superhero Minion design complete with a mask and a cape! He's learning some tricks from the Hulk and Spider-Man before setting off tomorrow morning.

Monday

2 years and over 75 000 views!

I can't believe it's been two years since I created Addison's Lily the Bunny from her drawing - one of my very first softies after going online!

I received this picture and message from Addison's Mom, Betsy, this evening and it truly made my day!

"We celebrated Addison's 7th birthday on Sunday and Lily turned 2! Addison still loves her just as much as the day she received her! Thank you again for making such a special gift for Addison!!!!! We are your biggest fans! She has never been attached to anything and i truly mean anything, until Lily! Lily goes on every trip! Never has missed a night without her by her side at bedtime!"

Happy Birthday Addison! I hope you and Lily are having a wonderful celebration!

Sunday

It doesn't Happen Every Time...

But when it does, they're always the best emails to receive!  After putting a little of my soul and a great deal of time into each and every softie I create (just like the children do when they create their characters), it's really amazing to receive pictures of the children with their softies. Parents almost always write me to tell me that they received their packages and describe to me their children's reactions I have a pretty good imagination but when I get a picture it just really makes my day extra special!

Here are some of the pictures I have received from parents of their little ones with the softies we worked together to bring to life!

Ink Lady

The Legendary Chop Chop

Summer Girl!

Tuesday

Meet Nic and his sister Olivia!

Nic and Olivia, from Up North(ish) Ontario drew these self portraits for their Dad.  Their dad LOVES them so much that his girlfriend wanted to have softie's made from their design's for his birthday!  I just love their little outfits!!

Hanging with some Books!

Olivia riding a Cow

Enjoying some time together!  Awesome designs Nic and Olivia!  I hope your dad really enjoyed his birthday present!

Fly Fly Butterfly

Butterfly's are one of children's favourite things to draw.  They symbolize change which is neat because  when, in your life, do you experience more change than as a child! Every day is something new!

Sheila's son, who is four years old and from Penetanguishene, Ontario, loves to draw butterflies. He decorates them in many different ways and uses so many different colours! This year for Christmas he is getting a softie hand made from one of his drawings! Happy Holidays!

Sunday

Little Summer Girl With A Bracelet

Hayden (The artist who drew the Torontada Dinosaur in 2012) has a 2.5 year old sister and she created this line drawing last summer. Isn't it spectacular? I think we have a budding artist! This is a self portrait on her first day of camp! Her mom sent me the clothing that she wore on this special day and I used it to make the clothing for her softie! Complete with some extra bows and ruffles! Merry Christmas!

Thursday

"Dad" by Zahra and Von

Dear Zahra and Von, from British Columbia created this drawing of their father for father's day. Zahra drew the body and her brother Von drew the head! Their mom wanted to make a special keepsake for their father from their very special drawing and I think it turned out perfectly! Their father just loves his children's artwork. He's even thinking of getting a tattoo of some of their work!

A Family That Sticks Together!

A little girl from British Columbia drew this portrait of her family! Although all of her family have black hair, she got creative and used all different kinds of colours to show their different personalities. Her Dad wanted to have this portrait recreated so he can hang it on his wall in 3D!

So I stretched fabric over a wooden artist's frame and attached velcro and then created each softie so that it will attach to the frame, and the 3 sisters can move the dolls around into different positions because there's lots of extra velcro!
